16g will move a bit more air and is capable of mid 130mph traps with supporting mods, though the wheel is heavier than the 24.

For highway/top end 16/24 over the 16.

+1. 16/16G is a newer better option than the K16/24. More power and the lag difference is almost not accountable. 1bar waste gates and your good.

ams and switzer have some good performance #'s with the K16/16 set up.. If I upgrade my turbos, I would go with switzer for my first choice..then ams

Billet K16 is a great option. AMS or Switzer.

takes more then just a turbo to hit some good numbers...
billet K16s are nothing new... as a matter of fact those are Tia/hta 7 blade wheels as in alpha turbos... but you need to run LOTs of boost to get them to respond with some good fuel...then good ICs, straight exhaust, injectors, etc etc... thus BIG money... not to mention $3K just to rebuild the turbos...
we never really saw impressive HP numbers at 1.2 bar on pump with a 5 bar with the billets.. even though a many members asked for them....

thus,
if money is an object... then I choose a simple 16g with a 5 bar... otherwise get ready to spend 10k....
BTW, I sell both... lol so not hating...

What type of gains would you expect on 16G+5 bar over the standard K16 with 1bar tune (EPL)? Only other supporting mods being Miltek100cell and billet diverter valves. Assume clutch will be needed quite quickly as well.

going out on a limb here but im going to say faster spool more torque and 40whp ish for the 1200$ cost they are a good upgrade hands down. compared to other turbos though they dont perform as good as billet kits but they are in the 5-6k price range

Well said. If the idea is good affordable HP. Send them out and get it tuned. You WILL surely feel it. Especially in the mid range. I like them better than K24's and 16/24's were cool 5-7 years ago, but they are tiny winy now

OP asks: "K16/16g vs K16/24, which one is better?"

we've got:
18g
Billet wheels
Custom A28s

FWIW, EPL saw around 60hp with the 16g's, 5 bar and retune. They can do more of course with proper fueling and more boost/supporting mods as some have done 6s 60-130 and trapped 134mph. Awesome turbo for a tip car.
