Exclamation upgrades in HP by computer

Anyone out there had there over revs checked by computer at their dealer (or someone with PS 2)? Turns out if you have as a part of the program a change in the rev limiter, the car will respond to the new limit. HOWEVER, each time you go over the OEM rev limit of 7000, the car computer records this as an over rev. Therefore, you will be working under the newer higher limit, but the recording part of the software still thinks the old limit is still in effect. This will undoubtedly result in an incredible number of over revs recorded by the computer (i.e. thinking you are downshifting too high) and they will likely not cover any warranty work on the engine. I would appreciate some input on this because I would never authorize an increase in the rev limit as part of any program change if I knew the car would record all of these shifts as over revs. Comments please. When talking with Todd at EVO, his suggestion was to switch back to the old computer for service trips. If you can't change the "police" part of the software, then the rev limiter should not be changed IMO. Thoughts?

update to my own question. Switching back to stock ECM, the "over revs" are in fact erased. However, in talking with my dealer mechanic, these aren't really over revs. They are listed as Range 1 or Range 2 "ignitions" and correspond to each numbered spark plug on each numbered cyllinder, firing beyond the stock rev limiter RPM. The Range 2 are the ones the dealer pays attention to for warranty issues and the cars with good drivers who don't even heel-toe downshift or track their cars will have Range 1 "ignitions" The long and the short of it is, drive well and don't mistreat the tranny, and any time you switch back to the stock ECM, the engine hours and KM will never match the odometer. . . So perhaps my best advice is simply this, do the upgrade but ask the programmers to not elevate the stock rev limiter numbers, and use a flashable system that does not require switching the ECM so that the Odometer and ECM match.

Hey, when do I get my gold stars? (and yes smarty pants I paid my $)
