Yes, I have seen issues in other Porsche applications.

Could you please elaborate Stephen.

As I understand it there are two types of ball bearing turbos. Water cooled and Oil cooled (without outer water jacket).

The water cooled jacket was suppose to solve the bearing problems.

What problems have you seen and was it a non watercooled version?

Sounds like the Garrett is perfect for the water cooled engine. I am glad you help put that to rest. The future for ball bearing turbos looks very bright!
