congrats on the new toy, I've been hearing great things about that bike. Troy Corser has done a great job providing feedback to BMW on ways to improve their sport bike line. Keep the rubber side down!

Are you in the North Bay? South Bay? P.M. me when you guys ride next. I ride every day (commute to work on the BMW), but still love my weekend blasts on the twisties.
Cheers.

Congrats on the recent acquisition.
I'm actually considering trading in my Ducati 1198 for one of these, but the asymmetrical look of the fairings aren't to my taste (at least via photo). Is it one of those things where it looks a lot better in person?

This Bike is really well built and oozes quality.. I like the asymmetric headlights and the bodywork, but I'm a dedicated function over form kind of guy... If it's fast, it's beautiful as far as I am concerned.
It handles really well, feels like it's a 600 class bike in terms of it's size, has very user friendly race traction control and race ABS, plus switchable levels from rain mode, all the way up to slick mode (I am in slick mode for my weekend blasts and track days, but dial it down to race mode on my commute, or rain mode if it's pouring down on the commute).
The brakes are about the best I have ever experienced on a Motorcycle (the previous best were on a 1098R I rode that belonged to a friend).. My Kawasaki ZX-10R had horrible brakes...
The combination of the engine BMW has built, plus the quickshifter, makes each shift flawless and they happen in 15 milliseconds!! It's a rocket right off the showroom floor, but once you add a full system pipe and get the correct tune for it, it's approaching nuclear explosion fast...
Seriously.. It's just a brilliant piece of kit and if you have a dealership nearby, you should test ride one.
Cheers..

Wow that's a pretty good power to weight ratio. 2.27 pounds/HP. Yikes!
I can't ride bikes or I'd be dead in a month. I used to ride when I was younger, but having kids took a little of the craziness out of me. Now I like to have doors and a roll cage.
