SpeedTech A28 Kit w/full supporting mods

We recently shipped this "full supporting mods" Tial Alpha 28 turbo kit with the help of EPL. The kit consists of SpeedTech Hi-Flow fresh air intake plenum w/hard piping, SpeedTech 3.5" intercoolers w/2.5" inlet-outlets, SpeedTech Hi-Flow 2.5" Y-Pipe w/75mm outlet, 72 lb. injectors, A28turbos w/lines and all accessory parts required for a complete installation. EPL supplied the A28's, injectors and tune. The customer already had an exhaust. If anyone is interested in a similar kit, please PM for additional information and pricing. We can package a similar kit with a variety of turbos and exhaust options, as well.

Not yet. Hopefully our customer will get back to us with some performance data once the kit is installed.

Yes, I agree - nice step up from stock.

thanks...if the car is an X50, does anything change, in otherwards can the stock K24s be upgraded to suit the kit instead of replaced with alpha turbos?

Hi Sunir,

I just sent you an email. Yes, with an X50 car, you can upgrade the turbos to K24/18G and combine them with the full supporting mods shown above with the A28's. This would be my recommendation for you. We have a fantastic K24/18G tune that I am sure you would be extremely pleased with...

Additionally, with the air flow modifications this package offers, you could also opt for and take advantage of the larger K24/20 turbos.

charnph is infamous around these parts
John,

Do you have to remove the engine to install those intakes?
And what about 5bar FPR? Did the kit included that too?

No need to change the FPR, since the kit

he spec'ed includes 72lb fuel injectors.

John,
I think an IPD Plenum and an appropriate throttle body might also be a consideration for supporting mods...

I do not believe you have to remove the engine or transmission to do the piping.

You dont have to remove it but you better be able to lower it a few inches if you value your sanity...

Hats off to anyone who can get this kind of kit installed with the motor in the car. Removing the stock one is hard enough with cutting it into pieces. I would think the issue would be tightening clamps on the hoses that are in the back of the motor, there isn't much room back there even with the motor lowered.

Hi Charn,

How are you? All the comments that beat me to a response are right on...

No need to change the FPR in this instance with the 72 lb. injectors

The hi-flow intake plenum and hard pipes can be installed by lowering the motor a few inches - the lowering is very quick and easy to do. This has been done many times.

MBailey, I agree...the customer had already sourced the IPD plenum and 75mm throttle body, so we matched the Y-Pipe to the 75mm throttle body for him.

Here are a few pictures of the intake pipes and plenum installed with the motor out...these shots provide a good look at the clean, high flowing lines a kit like this offers
