driver1712 is infamous around these parts
so basically for any prospective gallardo buyer, *** the e-gear and go for manual?

There were some good "buyers guides" out there explaining the experinces a person had with their gallardo, I will try and find and post it.

EDIT:

found it, http://supercarrentalsinc.com/the-co...-buyers-guide/

Keep in mind this was a rental car..... but gives you a general idea, its a 2004 BTW

egear is only different than the manual in terms of slipping. that's why manual usually last longer in the hands of an experienced driver. if driven properly, the egear will last around 15k-20k mi, depending on whether it's a 04-05 or 06-08 and how much traffic driving you do.

for those that think 996GT2 is the sexy blond, i dont suppose you have ever dated one

GT2 is more like a wild brunette - looks tame until it puts on a smackdown

Is it just the egear that needs the clutches every 8-10k, from what ive researched the manuals get alot better clutch life.
plus one on that, that was always my biggest fear.....

If you can afford to buy a Lambo you can afford to buy a $6k clutch. Man up.

Agreed!
the GT2 is like the librarian who gets wild on the weekends and the gallardo is the blonde that is a little high maintenance but not as good in bed.

I guess we all wonder what the other one is like!!

Good comparison, I guess for those that married a wild librarian but wanted a hot blonde, they can occasionally go for a hooker (rent a blonde/car); it is much cheaper longterms.

Damn, now that you put it that way, it sounds like I'm divorcing the librarian and marrying a hooker!

It's going to be fun and costly!

Would be willing to bet the tech was talking about a Diablo Lambo model. If he was talking about the Gallardo my advice would be to find a new tech that knows the different models. The G is very similar in reliability to the 911TT. I'm planning to do the TURBO conversion on the G from underground racing 1000 hp. Turns the G into the sickest car on the planet.
