Front license plate bracket - Has anyone tried this one?

I just bought a 996TT; and here in MD we have the annoying front tag. I'm going to hold-off on putting on the front tag until I get pulled over . Then once that happens, I'll pull the plug on the bracket, any of you guys running this bracket (link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT)

Any help would be great, Thanks!

Congrats on your Turbo, I know you looked a long time. 2002 Arctic Silver ... perfect choice. They are the fastest ones to be sure!

Interesting. I have been considering a similar solution. I'd go that route before drilling the bumper.

In Texas we have the same requirement. Currently I am driving with the front plate comfortably resting in the front boot.

Iowa requires them too. When I hit a deer two years ago, I didn't have them put the plate holder back on. No one has bothered me.

My only concern is that it IS a reason for them to pull me over if they just are in the mood.

Jesus. $95 for a license plate holder? Talk about a Porsche tax!

I think I'd be buying a solid plastic blank, drilling a hole in it where ther toe hook lines up, then going to Lowe's with a 5 dollar bill and getting some stainless washers and a bolt.
Done.

996 front bumper should already have the front holes for plate holder.

Some do...some don't. I'll opt for the tow hook setup.
