I have an Interstate my independent mechanic put in. Only thing these cars have an old style liquid battery, so be sure they hook up the vent tube for any hydrogen gas...

So I wouldn't want to be putting in myself if that's the case, but I don't wanna take it to the Stealership either what group is it?

pretty easy but i wouldn't trust anyone besides a mechanic or myself to do it. you can get AAA to do it for about $150 installed.

Cheapest places to get this is at Walmart or Costco. Costco often run out so I'd try walmart. These batteries are all made by Johnson Control so don't worry about which one is better. Just get the one with most CCA and cheapest priced.

I am pretty sure battery in 996TT is the same size.

Sears is another option. The Sears near me has a lane for Battery Express. In and out in 30 minutes.

On the topic of batteries,

it is best to buy your own and put it on a trickle charger until fully charged, before installing it in the car. It will last much longer.

Dealer put a new one in when I bought the car but it would have cost $250 for a factory battery.
