We got something similar, but on a 997 even tho it would look good on a 996 as well. The car itself eats up anything like this style any day ...

Justin - the rims look GREAT man!! Glad to see the beast on the road. As for Allen, no worries, he'll be back in another 996TT in a month or so. Hahahaa!!

What finish have you guys got on your split rims?

I've had a clearcoat/lacquer on mine in the past but it lifts due to the bad weather and salt on the roads here

I tried bare polished wheels, but that was a really bad move

If I can't get something to protect my wheels I'll need some new ones

Thinking of single piece 18's

Let's see some pictures

Something like this? I believe this was done for a forum member a few months ago. Render looks good and it would be a nice addition to the 996 Turbo, but need more in size!

Wow! Nice. That's pretty similar to our "Challenge Gold" we can finish our wheels in. Sorry for the 'Vette pic.

I can finally add something to this thread! After a year of owning my 01 996 with 19's that I did not like, I finally got some GMG 18's and painted them satin black:

I promptly took the car straight to the track...and ran out of talent.

TMWTP,

Those GMG wheels look sensational (before you ran out of talent of course). I'm sure they will clean up again very nicely though!
