how about gun metal, or bronze, black will just hide the detail and make them dissapear imo

It would be much easier to change your brake pads to a low dust pad (like a Hawk HP-S, instead of powder coating your wheels.

I though about power coating my wheels charcoal, but changed my mind when I realized all the bolts around the perimeter of the wheel should still be chrome and the plastic center caps would still be silver.

jburroughs12 is infamous around these parts
While not the best looking wheels, they are the wheels that I opted for (after convincing the wife that they were a good idea)

They're Victor Equipment Innsbruck's
18x8 +45 19 lbs.
18x11 +36 23.6 lbs.

Got them for a great deal, and they're a viable option compared to the F14's if you want to retain the 18" wheels. Now I just need to do a bit more selling to the wife why some H&R springs are a good idea...

Gun metal is a pretty good looking color. I'd only do the Porsche Lime Green if I trimmed the car in the same color. Mainly the black spoiler(s) in the front, down the side, and around the back. Then the Spoiler on the deck lid.
Regardless I'd only do the spokes on the wheels. I'd leave the beauty ring and titanium bolts the way they are now. I'd prob leave the center cap the color it is now as well. I'm in no hurry.

I'll look into the pads, thanks for the info. The cross drilled cheese graters doesn't help. I've got some Hawks on the back and they're to hard and make noise when the air temp outside is over 60 and I'm driving around town. I hate it, sounds like a cheap car and or I'm lazy and won't do maintenance.
If I did change the color of the wheels, I'd only do the spokes. I'd leave the beauty ring and titanium bolts the way they are now. I'd only do the center caps if they could keep from going over the Porsche emblem.
Good stuff on the pads though, thanks.

The car that Steve posted is one of the few that I love when it comes to wheels that have been painted. That combo is stunning! I really love the look. When I was looking for my HRE's I was considering some of the other finishes available but settled on this. I'm happy with the look.

Thats the nicest 996 ever to me. Always has, always will be.

Too bad HRE doesn't make the classic 5 and 8 series anymore. The new style ones just aren't the same. I guess everyone wants monoblock wheels these days!

997 turbo wheels have always been my favorite...unfortunately requires some nasty spacers, but definately makes the car look a bit newer.
