One of my aluminum threshold pieces has come loose. Any thoughts on best adhesive to use to reattach that will stick to aluminum but not mess up the paint underneath?

I really like the 3M foam tapes to ensure bonding when gaps are present or when there may be some flexing of the parts.

If/when it starts to fail, use monofilament line to cut through it in order to replace it. I've used it on painted surfaces and even after years it removes without damaging the paint.

3M makes automotive tapes for attaching trim pieces. Google "3M 6386".

The 3M tape is a good idea.

 

Ditto on the 3m double sided automotive tape.. also worked great for me..
