Got laid off for New Years
#31
Both me and the wife were laid off recently.....with two months of BOTH being laid off concurrently
I found a new job after two and a half months, she was out over a year.
Good news for you is the job market is WAY better than early last year.

I agree with the earlier post
Take this as an opportunity and start your own business. It's not as hard as is seems, and you'll have good job security as you'll be the last one laid off. It's not for everyone though.

I had my own business but because the partner was stealing money to catch up on his housing taxes I ended up losing a good amount of money. I'd love to start another business and have been thinking about it but what exactly to do? Anyone have any ideas?

Stick to what you know. What was the industry you where involved in?

I spent most of my life in food industry, but recently was in commercial flooring as a PM/Warehouse manager. I'd like to find something similar for a bigger company and still have a side business. I found a few places that spark my interest but I have to make a resume as I never had to have one before LOL. Any way you look at it I'm not afraid to work. When i had my own business, cafes, it was a 24/7 job which was rewarding, then I got into my last gig and I had days where I worked from 2am to 6pm so long hours or early hours don't scare me. though about looking into a township/gov job but with the hiring freezer going on I doubt I could get in. When the resume is done I'll be pasting it all over and see what happens.
