I am looking to get rid of the stock suspension and would like to know if anyone has ridden the KW V3 and Bilstien coil-over.
I already have Eibach lowering springs but the suspension is so soft. I don't mind the smooth ride , but it feels like it floats and the steering wheel has a lot of play.

Do either of these keep a descent ride? And give quicker response?

How do they compare?

I am also looking for some rear seat belts or maybe a set of 4 red seat belts. Does anyone have either of these for sale?

 

I have PSS9's on my turbo and a friend has KW V3 on his, driven both on and off the track and would say that if you like to track I'd recommend the KW V3 but if your mostly into street driving and may attend a few lapping days then the PSS9's are a good choice.

Having said that I'm not overly impressed with the lack of low speed damping on the PSS9's, the adjuster does nothing in the range to change it. Not sure if the PSS10's are better for this, I've stripped my PSS9's off the car to send to Bilstein for revalving and will see if this is something that they can change for me while doing the work.

Not sure the pricing comparison between the two but if it's close I think I'd look closer at the KW's. Forgot to mention but the KW V3's sit very low at the maximum ride height if that's an issue.

 

I have the KW's and they are great on the track. A little stiff on the street but they are fully adjustable.

 

I see you have Eibach springs, have you changed your sway bars?? I went to Eibach sway bars and I was impressed on how the track difference was with just sways. Very inexpensive suspension upgrade IMO. I have yet to decide on coil-over/shocks as well, mostly track with this car still undecided on KW3 or step it up to Motons or JRZ's.

My car is the one with KW's that Basic is referring to. I am happy with them right out of the box. The ride is firm but not abusive. Currently my car is about the same ride height as a stock 997 GT3. I was planning to raise the car during the winter months to give me more ground clearance. Imagine my surprise when the shop told me I was already at the highest setting. I have to remove the lower rubber spoiler to give me the extra clearance I want.

 

So the Bilstien lower the car 30-50mm or about an 1.1"- 1.9"? Does that sound about right? .0393700787

How much do the KW's lower the car? What are their range?

I am probably just a tad below what I want with the Eibach's, at least for winter street driving, but just right for those summer track days

I want something with more connection to the road but I don't want a rough street ride. That is why I thought of these, being they are advertised as adjustable. Maybe soft for the street and then dial them up and lower them for the track days.
Thoughts ?

 

At the highest setting, my KW V3 equipped TT sits a little lower (very slightly) than GT2 specs. If I lowered them all the way I don't think I would be able to make it out of my driveway, and it doesn't even have a very dramatic transition to the street.

 

I was able to get a very good setup on my car with KW V3, to put in good laptimes.

Then for street (driving home), I could quickly adjust compression to swallow bumps, while leaving rebound untouched for good body control.

Also tried a set of Swift Springs with custom rates, on the KW V3s and the shocks worked really well with that especially on track. For street, those custom springs were pretty aggressive.

KW V3 definitely will take you far enough on the track unless you start modding your car for Grand AM level racing.

 

Does anyone have pictures of the KW V3 showing their height ? How easy is the adjustment?

Sounds like this is the way to go for my needs. Thanks for all the input, now I just have to convince the wife to let me spend money on something she will see as frivolous !

How many miles did you have on your KWs, and did you ever have them rebuilt?
