New Custom Steering Wheel, Couldn't Resist
Hey guys. I will be getting rid of my car in a few months but I just couldn't resist getting a new Steering Wheel. Its exactly like I envisioned it. Don from Dallas Custom Steering Wheel was great in helping me get exactly what I wanted. His customer service was A+ and although the holidays just passed he got this done for me in record time. Great communication, fast shipping... what more could I have asked for?
So my main reason to getting rid of my OEM wheel was because the CF was cracking in too many places. When I bought my car years ago it was a one owner vehicle from California. I'm guessing the sun really stressed on the wheel and it had cracking all over the place. Over the past 4 years its just gotten progressively worse. I didn't want to get another CF wheel to have it meet a similar fate so after seeing plenty of their work I decided to take the plunge.
I asked for a Tri-Tone Wheel. Leather, Perforated Leather, Alcantara. Silver stitching and an orange stripe (closest match to RS orange). Pricing was way more affordable then I expected. GREAT craftsmanship, which was extremely important to me. The leather at the bottom center needs to be slightly heated so the little wrinkles start to fade. The stripe is thin with a taper, when seeing it directly at perfect eye level you barely see the taper anymore.
My interior has a RS orange center console, arctic silver trims, alcantara and carbon fiber. I have an all black interior. I can't wait to get it installed. The pictures below are from when I opened the box it came in. And a few pictures Don took before sending it out. Obviously theres a little residue from the box guts and the alcantara needs to be combed. It was properly packaged and the wheel itself was wrapped with plenty of plastic bubble wrap to make sure it arrived perfect.
Thank you Don!
