0.9 Bar??

0.9 Bar??
I just bought a 2002 996TT. Based on the fact that there are no modifications to the car whatsoever, I am assuming that it has the stock tune in it. I did a few full pulls on the highway the other day (91 Octane, 3500ft Pressure Altitude, 20 deg F) and it consistently registered 0.9 Bar.
Any opinions on what this means? Has it been modded? Flashed?
Thanks

what a score that would be. i have never ran my car in that cold of weather , but thats a little high for a stock car. find a shop that
knows about mods and ask him these questions. they can hook you car up to a laptop. don't take it to the dealer what ever you do!!!! never!!! i had a lot of mods one can put on a k16 car and i would pull .9-1.0 bar on pumped gas..

Do this first- pop open the hood and look at the codes listed on the bottom of it. See if one says x50.
If not, I would see if EPL can do a remote datalog (if you buy the cable from them) to make sure no one did any rogue WG adjustments and the A/F mixes are correct. If there is no tune, I would have them send you a file.
If its already tuned, you will only be out the cost of the cable and datalog and you will sleep well knowing no one messed with anything they shouldnt have messed with.
EDIT: Just saw Paul recommended the same exact thing!

Glacier,
I purchased my car (01') in Calgary in December and flew there over Christmas and drove it on Christmas eve for about half an hour when it was about -2C out. The car is apparently bone stock and I also had it reading 0.9 at times. I haven't driven the car since as it is currently being shipped out to Vancouver Island where I live. I'm wondering if the slightly cooler and thinner air would cause it to surge up to 0.9 even though it is apparently stock?

Was it peaking at 0.9 bar or steady 0.9 bar on a 3rd or 4th gear pull. My car has a stock tune and I've got my car to peak at 0.9 but it always stays steady at 0.6-0.7 on a 3rd or 4th gear pull. I agree with the others though, check first to see if it as an option X-50, if so this is normal boost for K24 turbos. If not an X-50 do a datalog and you'll know for sure. You never know what the previous owner had done to the car. There could have been some mods on the car that were pulled off prior to selling.

The car has been in the shop getting 3M clear work done, but I get it back tonight. If the roads are clear I will try a few 3rd gear pulls to confirm that it is holding 0.9 bar, but I am pretty sure it is. Once I get it in the garage I will check for the X-50 codes and also check the turbos to see if they are 16's or 24's.
It would be great if the car was already flashed, but I'd sure wish I knew who flashed it and the details...
Thanks guys,
g

X50 car or not, 0.9 is a flashed car. Stock (k16 or k24) are .6-.7. If your car is a K16 and you're running at 0.9 with no other mods, I'd be careful as you're really pushing what edge with that stock setup.

I do not know about your above statement being corret, about .9 being a flashed X-50.When my X-50 was bone stock,it hit .9 in the cold weather temps in the 30's and occasionally .9 peak in the 50's temp. in 4th gear.....Just my info.....
