Just keep in mind that a shop that knows the owner/seller has a vested interest in keeping the local performance car customer (ie the owner/seller) happy.
Just saying.... do the CPO checklist, complete- add a body work inspection and DME dump. And get it all in writing. If they need the CPO form, you can google it!

The owner of Layland has a 996 cab, and they work on a few 911 turbos. They are about 10 minutes from my office in downtown Canton. They have a great reputation, and I would not hesitate to use them for any work on my car.
However we have a superior Porsche shop in the area, http://www.steinels.com/.
Steinels is the only place outside of Switzer, that I would have inspect a 996 turbo.
I could give the car a look over as well.
