Question on Gearing

For those people who have changed gears, have you changed 3rd through 6th or 2nd through 6th? Can you explain why. Also what is better the Porsche motorsport gears or the Guard and why? TIA

I have heard from a good source that Guard is coming out with a complete gear set sometime soon 1-6. I am kind of waiting for that to come out before I change. The idea behind changing the gears is to be able to accelerate as fast as possible from say 0 to 175 mph and give up a little on the top end. There are not too many times or places I can run up to 190 mph. So I would rather have the grunt down low.

in gt2 box duane you can only easily change 2-6, gt3 3-6 as low gears are welded on. dont know in TT box, but i assume similar, guard will know.
guard has the best quality altho mckenna may be able to get you pMS.

it's a trade off which i s why i did not change my gear sets.

duane,

At first I changed third through 6th in the gearing and 2nd through 6th with steel syncro's. I now have gears and syncro's for 1st through 6th. First and 2nd gears were extented. Third through fifth was shortened and sixth was extended.
