Congrats! on a fun set up, I have been slowly building my A/T 3071's for the last year and now that I am happy with the set up I wish I did certain mods at one time to save and avoid on the engine coming out twice.

I'm saving to buy IC's, intake piping, fueling stuff and a clutch

I WOULDN'T ADD TURBOS WITHOUT DOING THE CLUTCH, FUEL INJECTORS, AND INTAKE PIPING OR LABOR WILL COST YOU TWICE!!

I will use this thread as a "diary" of my modding journey, and I will update it every time I got something new.

Well, for now I only have turbos...

AND A GOOD FREE FLOWING EXHAUST

Of course I will discuss about the "project" with my tuner, but I'd like to know your opinions guys anyway..

So, as for supporting mods, given that I don't want to do things more than once, what do you think about this list of parts:

- Sachs 999 pressure plate with either an organic disc or a sintered metallic one.

- INtake piping: either Markski or Speedtech ones. I know they are very important, but would you say "necessary"?

ABSOLUTELY!!

- Intercoolers: I'm tempted to give a try to the 997.2 IC's but I'm not 100% convinced about this...they tempt me a lot.

ABSOLUTELY

- Fueling: well I still need to talk to EPL actually, but I'm sure injectors are mendatory; I don't know honestly if the stock pump in enough though.

ABSOLUTELY (72LBer's)
I ALSO ADDED A SECOND INLINE PUMP (starving at the top and stay safe)

- Put my front wheel drive back on...I'm not going to upgrade the suspension for now, and I feel that any more power than the current flash/exhaust will be too much for the stock susp. on RWD without an LSD.

I AM RUNNING AWD, COULDN'T IMAGE 2WHEEL

I will be running 93oct fuel, at least until I find some methanol sources around here. I could buy ethanol but I don't think it would work as well as meth cause it is said to be more aggressive on plastic and rubber components..
Race gas is out of the options list at 24$/gallon.

ABSOLUTELY (HSF-6 AQUAMIST SYSTEM)

Any suggestions? Something you would do (or have done) differently or in addition to the aforementioned mods?
ADD SWAY BARS (if you don't already have them)
AND EBC BOOST CONTROLLER -
CHANGE YOUR HOSES - I blew an older hose at the track no fun because I was done for the day

Earl I agree to some extent about the car being suicidal, I kind of think of it more as violent! I track mine with the boost controller turned off and it is an absolute blast, plenty of power but enough control coming out of the turns where you won't power slide. I am running a stock suspension except for the Eibach sways & 235 - 315/ 18's

Good Luck and will definitely be waiting for your diary to progress!!!

USP and AMS are also options for the turbo intake pipes.
Congrats and talk about timing...
My used A28's just showed up yesterday so I'm in the exact same situation.
I did go with the 997.2 IC's though. Earl's thread was very convincing and the fact that no vender has shown any data on their product just sealed the deal on those.

And I have just found a good source for Methanol.....So a Meth/Water injection system is going to be installed....
I have to ask the guys at EPL about what kit they recommend.

I'm going to set up a thermo-couple temperature measurement before the meth nozzles, cause I want to know how the IC's will work. I have a similar equipment to what you used during your testing, but I need to think on how to put the sensor in the piping without causing a leak.

Very nice.
Can't wait to see your progress. I do have to warn you though, these cars are worse than crack when it comes to "addictions".

Well, I think my little wallet will help me getting "out of the tunnel"...

No, seriously, I will stop here with power....next on the list is suspension mods.
And I have money put aside to build the engine....just in case...

This car is not going to leave, even if I'll ever get another P-car, cause it has a special personal meaning to me, so I don't feel like I'm wasting money on it.
