3.8l + ported head + reground cam real gain???

Hey guys

I always wonder what is the hp/tq gain from them?

Lets say that my car made low 700's from stock engine and GT30 kit on 1.5bar.

What can expect after I add 3.8l + ported head + reground cams in same boost level?

and about 50k less in your pocket
most likely a lot better boost response, less lag, higher redline.
I am sure people like Rob, Markski etc can answer this question very easily.

i was told about 170ftlbs of torque with same heads(ported and cams) and turbo kit 3.6 to 3.8 (3076 turbos)

I don't know what gains could be achieved by headwork and cam, but one can estimate the %CFM gain and therefore the %hp (assuming BSFC and A/F ratio to remain approx. the same) using this:

CFM= L*RPM*Ve*Pr/5660

L in liters (displacement)
Ve in % (lets say you have 95% Ve, you put 95 in the formula, not 0.95)
Pr is pressure ratio ( approximately = (boost pressure - baro pressure)/baro pressure )

30rs will be a waste...you will need 35s...
regrinding you referring to gt3 specs... running gt3 code..
if your trying to run records go for it.. the benefit is there.. if your not going to run C 16 all the time and just wanna have a fast car leave your 3.6L alone, keep the stock heads and cams... your pocket will thank me later.... not to mention... just because you do t it doesnt mean you will be fast... so many other parts come into play... especially install, testing regularly, checking things etc etc... mind you.. a healthy 3.6L car will beat your 3.8L with all the bells and whistles if you dont a have part time mechanic on hand....
just my opinion...

take it from someone who has their motor apart right now, dont do it enjoy your car and do some mods that dont involve 100+ hrs of labor and waiting on parts, tuners and such that take way too long to do.

I have to agree about Markski. He's pretty much spot on with what you need and more importantly what you DON'T need. I wasted some good $$ by not listening to him.

I stayed stock 3.6ltr, but I am going for records or something!

Romans you car looks good btw! I was out at the track that night when you talked to Lil Powell (the black 997TT with DPE wheels) at Royal Purple Raceway (aka Houston Raceway Park). I was already in my truck when he was talking to you from car to car.
