Anyone else find the sport seats uncomfortable?

I'm thinking about purchasing a 996 Turbo, and I wanted the sport seats for more support and because they're much more attractive. My father has this Carrera Cab with sport seats, and I've found them uncomfortable. The shoulder "support" area seems to be too narrow and pinches my shoulders forward. I'm sure it would help in cornering, but I'm guessing there are better options out there. Are the Euro GT3 bucket seats better in this regard? How about the newer folding GT2/Boxter Spyder/Cayman R seats?

As a reference point, the Recaro seats in the Mitsubishi Evolution IX and X cars seem to fit my body great. I haven't sat in the Carrera GT/Euro GT2/GT3 RS seats either.

I had sport seats originally and never really liked them that much, other than looks. I went to the Euro GT3 seat and love them.

The sport seats much more supportive than the stock seats without giving up comfort. The fixed GT3/2 offer more support but compromise comfort on long trips. The new folding GT2 sports seats will be cost prohibitive for a few years until the used market catches up.

I replaced my stock seats with 997 GT3 sports seats, not the buckets but the regular sport seats with the Alcantara inserts. Very supportive at the track and comfortable for long trips too.

Ive always liked the adjustability of the standard seats with power vs. sport seats.

Yeah it's almost as if the shoulder bolsters are too close together. If they were wider it might be a better fit. Oh well, looks like I'll either have to save up for a special Recaro setup or try to find something used somewhere for a bargain.

I sat in a GT3 a year ago and really disliked the seats. I lost fifteen lbs. and they fit great so it's all relative.

I had the sport seats in my car for a limited time. (5 days) Ran into a pair of EURO GT3 seats.

In the short time I had them in, I liked how they felt. Much better support than the regular seats.

Loved my sport seats. So much so that if I buy another 996 I'm either going to buy with sport seats or swap out to them first thing.

Anybody have a set of the sport seats laying around that they want to get rid of?

My issue with the sports seats isn't with the shoulder width, as I am not a big guy at 5'9", 185 lbs. Instead, it is with the lumbar support. No matter how I adjust it, I can't seem to escape discomfort in my lower back area when I drive for longer trips (2+ hours). Not sure if I am the only one experiencing this.

I can't speak for the Porsche on longer drives, but I had this issue on my STi when I first got it. The lumbar stuck out too far but was not adjustable, so I would have back pain if my drive was anything longer than 1 hour. Thankfully as the seat broke in this problem went away.

What's weird is I'm a fairly slim guy (5'11", 150 lbs), but the Porsche seat somehow seems to be designed for a different person. I want to say it's too narrow at the top, but I can't really put my finger on it.

These are ugly but feel great for me.
