After market GT2 bumper from Precision Porsche

Here are some pics of my 03 C2 with Precision porsche GT2 front bumper. The air dam and lower lip are OEM ordered directly from Porsche. The fit was pretty good. The only noticeable difference from OEM is on the sides by the clear markers, the gap between the fenders and the bumper seem a little open compared to OEM. Otherwise I think it fits pretty well. Let me know what you guys think. I also installed the turbo rear bumper and GT3 side skirts. This a narrow body carrera that I tried giving a turbo look with the body kit and turbo twist wheels. I'll post some before pics shortly.

I have the NR GT2 bumper and I have to say it is great. No waves or wrinkles or anything of what someone else said. PErfect in every way and solid heavy duty construction. I'd take it over fiberglass any day

RUF. Polyurethane, Made in Germany, OEM quality, and comes with all ducting and brackets to make it aerodynamically functional just like the GT2 bumper by directing airflow up and over the hood.

as much of a beauty as it is, it isn't the GT2 bumper. It has it's own trademark to it, which is, I think, even better.

I like the fact that it has the built in splitter and it's truly functional. RUF tested this bumper / body kit at Nardo on the Rturbo at 230mph so you know it's functional. Everything fits like OEM but I think it's best if used in concert with the mirrors and rear end. Just like I think the GT2 front bumper should be used with the proper correct ducting and the GT2 rear to preserve the aero balance.

interesting about that is that I have talked to many people who have done one and not the other, and the actual down force created by the front didn't make much of a difference to destabilize the car, in fact it helped it a little. However, a few that did just the rear GT2 wing, said it made the car feel much worse at speed. I guess the higher down force at the rear made the front end to light upsetting the car at speed. If I could only do one, I would do the front first.

What's the RUF go for? I'm guessing no one makes a replica?

I like how it looks paired with the OEM decklid... i'd like to keep my OEM decklid/wing as the GT2 one looks a bit too aggressive for my blood but I always think the GT2 front end without the decklid/wing looks unbalanced to me.

The RUF looks aweseome with both the RUF wing and a stock 996TT wing like mine still has. I happen to have an extra that is new in the box that I purchased for a rainy day. PM me if interested.

The RUF is listed at 2150 Euro plus shipping, so roughly $2700 plus shipping which I'm guessing will be around $300. This price includes all the RUF specific ducting and brackets to make this fully functional with the 996tt for which it is designed. The air is channeled from the center over the radiators and then up over the hood. For an actual price quote contact Mike Melville at:

I started a thread awhile back wondering the same thing! I have an aero wing with TA sides and rear bumper piece! I want to go with a TA or GT-2 front bumper but don't want to compromise high speed stability! Not sure if I like the GT-2 wing more then my aero wing.

Also if I did go with the TA 996 front bumper do they make a specific wing that goes with there bumper and aero kit? Or is it a copy of the gt-2 wing?

Sorry to thread jack but I never got an answer to this and thought someone here might know.

Better Bodies (they've been doing fiberglass parts for 20 years) in San Diego has a PU bumper for the early 996 turbos and plans to make one for the later year 996 turbos sometime this year. I've seen the bumper finished and mounted on a car and it has very good finish and fitment. It is not an exact replica of the GT2 bumper but similar. The price is very attractive.
