More boost

I need to adjust my actuators to get more boost.
When mapping my car could not get over 1.1 bar.
Running K16/K26's, exhaust, filter, 5 bat FPR etc.
Wanting to get to 1.2 which way must the actuators be turned to acheive this.
Also looking at putting yellow springs in my DV's which quote boost 25-23psi.
Your thoughts please

The best way is to use 1 bar actuators. Than you set them with to open at 1.2 with compressed air. To increase you just run the nuts in or tighten them. Stock actuators are unreliable at that boost level.

Air fuel ratio. just to make sure your tuning is up to the task.

Yes..I will make adjustment then take it back to the guy who did the mapping.
It would not go over 1.1 bar no matter what he was asking he car to boost to.
Will this adjustment get me to 1.2-1.3 bar.
Many thanks
Tim

HI,All I can tell you,is after all MY playing with the waste gate adjustments and being on the dyno........Is that.....Just because they are 1 bar springs ,does not mean you set them to crack open at 1 bar[14.7 psi].....Usually your tuner will tell you any wheres from 12psi to 13.5 psi crack open point setting......The program will do the rest to keep it in the safe boost range...Yes ,you can crank up the spring pressure psi setting to gain boost without reflashing BUT you better make sure you are safe and will not pull timing which will hurt performance then.....Then you have it set, the boost will still vary a bit with those 1 bar springs due to the controller not being able to maintain/control it as easy as the stock weak springs, colder temps raises te boost.......Just my experience....Hope it helps

be careful with to much boost on pumped gas.. 1.1 is safe anything beyond that might go lean and be counter productive. dangerous!

I do not know his tuner or know about his build but if I read the op he is using a k26 compressor. If so its around the 18g wheel and on the stock injector (here in the us at least) is border line lean.

Many thanks for your thoughts.
My tine is K16/K26
Milteck exhaust with 200 cel cats
pipercross filter with standard intake
5 bar fpr
Fearnsport specialist map
It is running standard injectors...
From what you have said having second thoughts now as to leave at 1.1 bar.
I always use 98 octane fuel it's the best we can get on pump gas in the UK.
Once again many thanks

Hi Tim, But he has that 5 bar,if he didnt then I would agree....either way ,for what I know or think,he sounds like he is dialed in ,within a safe zone, from his tuner at that 1.1 bar.Just my thoughts......Have a great day.........

Tim, are you sure they are K16/k26? Usually the K16 have the K24 wheel from the K24 turbo. The K26wheel used to go on the K24 turbo. AET turbos usually build these. With the k26 wheel, it would be like having a K16/18g set up!

I'm sure Matt knows what he is doing, but make sure you are not over 12 on your AFR on WOT, and get Matt to pressure check the system.

I have the K16/16g (16g wheel), which is the as near as dam the same as the K24 wheel, and mine boosts fine to 1.2bar ( I have stock WG's, not 1bar). A freind of mine has the FVD map, and boost 1.3bar, he is using 1 Bar WG, but this is the max you should go, on the UK pump fuel.

You can PM me direct if you like, or catch me on the PH forum, same user, if you want to chat

Cheers

Gary
