Standalone or not to standalone

Problem is when on smoke check they put gas analyzer probe in exhaust.........if you run without CATs you cant pass that check at all, the only way is to put back CATs

Well after more and head scratching and seeing that no one else is getting the big 2150cc injectors to work with the 996 ecu plus the fact that the cams I am going to use only have a home tab and not the home plus 3 the factory uses. I am guessing my dash will be a Christmas tree. lol. I will get to cutting to valve pockets in my pistons soon I hope, not something I want to start and not have the time to finish. Then I can button up the motor and get some answers.

Most people here just do not get the logistics of it all and the ones that do will know why you are doing it. Really Tim I would not figure you for the type that would worry about the approval of the internet mass's.

Update: After lots of head scratching and time limits to get to a event this year with the car I think Wes is right and that just drop the factory dash and running a after market dash is the way to go. Things that are forcing the change from the factory dash are the loss of the vario, the ecu just cant handle it..

Update.. I dropped the fly by wire for now, I have air temp, pre intercooler, post intercooler, water temp, oil temp, oil psi, lambda bank 1&2, fans, fuel pump, MAP, TPS, idle air stepper, crank trigger(factory), cam sync, fuel psi, and blood psi.

I have been a bit baffled why there isn't a better programming option than flashes also. I guess I got spoiled by other platforms that had better options in that area. Not being able to program on the fly with live feedback seems archaic to me :P It seems to work pretty well though and it seems Porsche put a lot of safeguards and a good ECU in the car.
