Crash Safety?

Crash Safety?
Maybe I am paranoid but I've been worried lately about the safety of the 911 over something a little more conventional - i.e. a C63 or M5. Unfortunately I have lost two close friends in accidents so this always weighs heavy on my mind.
It's hard to gauge due to Porsche not participating in the US Crash Test ratings. Any thoughts?

I figure if a Porsche, MB, BMW, VW, AUDI is built for a NO SPEED limit Autobahn, it has got to be safer than most cars on the road. IMHO.
Sorry to hear of your loss of two friends

Wow, that's incredible. Glad your OK. I am sure the structure is extremely strong - just worry about getting hit by a large, jacked-up, truck whose bumper is aligned above the 996 doors/hood. Realistically, I guess the 996 is not that much shorter than the C63/M5 crowd though.

Can I say this is strange and paranoid? The preoccupation with "being safe" really distorting most Americans lives.
The odds of having an accident are low, and the odds of dying are even lower...yet the OP will change cars to 'adjust' the odds of a fatal injury.
How YOU drive and what YOU do will have vastly more influence over your death as compared to the car you are driving when you F up.
Buy a Volvo with 160HP. Or better, stay in the house.
Sorry to be blunt, but you need to re-evaluate your motivations.

PS If one will argue "what if someone hits me" then buy that volvo.

Yeah, that is a little blunt but I agree with the fact that this is all an adjustment of odds.
That being said, I'm going to say we are all constantly trying to improve our odds whether it be education/career choice, home locations in areas with appreciating in value, or even choices someone makes at a blackjack table. No distrespect dude but I think it's natural to want to inrease your odds.
