Broken timing chain...

Gunther, this thing will be firing with the help of your injectors... You can even pilot it if you want!

Heh, I don't even want to think about it... BUT, I should have some good solid numbers here in the next week or two...
And just to clarify, you wanted the engine rebuild price WITH the rods, studs, machine work, etc? Or you want the engine build price WITHOUT all that stuff? I think I was told many many moons ago that a rebuild back to factory spec would run around 12-14k??? But I honestly don't recall... I'll have some real-world info before too long.

Yeh anything internal, rods, bearings, any crank or head work. IMO it would be counter intuitive do have engine apart and not do as much internal work as possible including cylinder head work. Why didnt you do any port work on intake of heads? Not interested in aftermarket turbos, exhaust and all the "known" items. I'd love to have an extra block to take couple years to build and have ready. Wonder what major changes between regular 996c2 or gy3 short or long block and the turbo block other than compression and such. If everything bolts together same or with minor differences just build from a 996c2 block. Guess would have to run much less boost as initial compression is much higher. Just thinking too hard probably!!

At last ...
We finally heading down the home stretch with this thing...
I'll update the story in a bit, but just came back from the shop and at 1.24 bar (18psi) and 93 octane pump gas it did the following (rear wheel)
Need a little fine-tuning from the 'Mad Scientist' and then we should be ready to go... I'll get some pulls on MS109 as well after a while.

K24/20GXT (billets), Proto fuel system (60# injectors, inline bosch style pump) and tuning...
But I've got a full build too... IMA Motorsport longblock (custom machine work, ported heads, rods, studs, etc...), BBI/IPD Y-pipe and plenum, Proto blow-through MAF & intercoolers, 911Tuning exhaust... I think I've covered many of the details on the last page or two of this thread. I'll revisit all the particulars though in short time...

I just noticed that... I txt the shop owner and he said Tach wasn't calibrated right... He was letting off at 7k according to the dash and durmatric. So of course I asked him if the HP and TQ were not calibrated correctly either! Haha... He said we were good.
