Gt3 a better daily then a turbo?

My daily driver to work is a Camry! I wouldn't take my Porsches to work. Like you, I would drive it daily when I am not working and on nice days and weekends which fortunately we have a lot of in Southern California.

Personally I don't notice a significant difference in the sound of the exhaust in my RS compared to a GT3. I know some people say they do. They are both amazing cars and are a testament to the racing heritage of Porsche. I hope they gave you the nice hard back GT3 book from the dealer. If not, make sure they give you one!

I believe it is their marketing brochure except that it is in hardback. I had two and gave one away otherwise I would have sent it to you. It goes in depth on the GT3. As an owner you will want one. It's pretty nice for a brochure/book 97 pages. My dealer gave me one when I started looking at buying one in January. I've attached a photo of it. If you can't get one, I will see if I can get another one for you.

It seems to me your friend is arguing which car is more fun to drive instead of which car makes a better daily driver
I will admit, in stock configuration, the 996 Turbo isn't the most exciting sports car. Long and vague shifter, soft suspension, uninspired exhaust note, less than ideal throttle response, vague clutch uptake, etc. I mean, just look at the number of people (me included) on this forum going for 997 shifters, coil over suspension, aftermarket exhuast, ECU flash, GT2 slave conversion, etc. in an attempt to fix the "issues" present with a 996 Turbo in factory configuration. IMHO, both in stock form, the 997 GT3 has the edge in the fun to drive department.
As for which car makes for a better daily driver? I think each individual's definition of what makes a good daily driver is different and the verdict will differ accordingly.
996 Turbo has AWD (if you live in a place with inclement weather conditions), softer suspension, and better low end torque for around town driving.
The 997 GT3 has better interior and all the latest tech gadgets going for it (bluetooth, USB/iPod connectivity, etc.). Most GT3s should still be under factory warranty while most 996 Turbos are not. Believe it or not, this matters to many buying a daily driver.
It really just boils down to what each individual looks for in the ideal daily driver. Really isn't a right or wrong answer/choice with this one.

Its actually silly to be comparing cars which are a decade apart and about 70k apart in price.
But for the price of a used 996tt...not too many cars can deliver the same performance.

A stock chicktronic turbo is about the easiest car to have as a DD, nothing is easier. A stock 6spd 996 or 997 will be easier than a GT3 just because of the super light clutch. But a modded 6speed turbo with boat loads of horsepower and scary clutch is easily as difficult or more so than a GT3 to DD. I am not sure I would want to drive either a GT3 or a modded turbo as a DD in heavy traffic. I would end up with the leg version of bowlers arm.
I wouldn't mind adding a GT3 to my garage
