spark plugs

Altitude really should not be a factor in our turbocharged cars since an engine producing 0.8 bar at sea level or at 6000 ft "sees" the exact same amount of oxygen. In other words, 0.8 bar of pressure is the same amount of compressed air at sea level, 3000 ft, 6000 ft, etc....
Turbo and superchargers are used on piston air planes. The reason for this is to maintain the engines power level at sea level not to make more then they do at sea level. As you compress the air you heat it, the thinner the air the more you need to compress it and the greater the heat which needs huge intercooler to cool and big compressors to maintain charge psi. This is way off the topic of spark plugs though.

Agreed this was about spark plugs but as some times it happens,we stray.......Just like we went from 996 turbo managements systems to Airplanes turbo managements systems???.....lol......Its all good...
