MPG from your cars...
With all the stuff going on in the middle east and fuel prices shooting upwards again, we are lucky to have efficient small displacement engines but on the flip side the forced induction tempts many of us to keep our foot in it...lol. Just outta curiousity what kinda mpg do you guys get in your 996TT/GT2 ...what mods do you have that effect fuel economy and what's your driving style (for the most part)...
I'll go first...
'02 996TT X50 - tune and TPC sport tuned exhaust...
18.2 mpg average, including hwy and around town (as shown on my gauge cluster)
driving style: on haighway cruising with occasional random bursts of rapid acceleration, ussually in 3rd or 4th gear then slow back down and cruise in 6th...

Coming back from Austin to Houston and a few other long drives I managed about 22-23mpg doing the math for fuel used to miles driven. In the city though fuel mileage is unknown as I have a heavy foot when not on the freeway LOL! This is on my setup in the sig with 1000cc injectors.

2003 996TT. Only engine-related mod I have is the software. I get about 16-18 mpg in mixed city/hwy driving. Even though I'm OK with the gas mileage, I just wish the gas tank were a little bigger so I wouldn't have to fill up so frequently.

Hey Aerodude,
When I had only a tune and exhaust on my car, I was getting 22+ mpg on combined. Are you sure your card has only a tune?

I am getting right around what aerodude is getting mixed hwy and such...with 1.0 bar ecu flash and TPC tuned exhaust, although I think on a short trip locally I've seen 19.2 mpg (according to the cluster)...and I agree the tank is really small so you have to fill up pretty often compared to most other cars...

9 -12 mpg in the city and 20-22 mpg on longer trips... tip/stock. 135-160 mi per tank
I know we are not driving these for their fuel efficiency, but I will say I have been disappointed with the low mpg's in town. I am hoping to have an EPL flash this spring...sounds like this helps with increased mpg's(along with all the other bennies).

That't the thing with these cars, they are fun to drive enthusiastically....so our mileage in in the range of a supercharged V8 but we have a 3.6L small engine, the F/I aspect definately plays a big part...I think that because the tank is so small and the fill intervals are so short we don't really bother with range and just have fun with them...with fuel prices creeping up it would be nice to have a larger fuel tank though and a bit more range...a friend of mine once said "Porsche does not make cars, they make toys" lol I think that may be the truth lol!
