if there is not already a specified 'park it yourself' fee, slipping them 20~$, they will usually let you park it yourself and keep the keys

Just tell the valet that as long as the car comes back with no scratches, dents, miles or over revs, you'll let him live.

i had the guys in chicago at "carmines" in downtown chicago mess up my wheel one on the diablo... and another time... smoked my cluth cause I smelled it a mile away. since then I take my keys.
