i thought in some states, if u buy a used car u dont have to pay sales tax anymore? is it bec. it's a lease that this rule does not apply?
In Illinois you always have to pay tax, but, if you already own say an $82k car and trade it in it washes the tax on the new $82k car. Tax credit on trade. You guys really get screwed in Cali with that. You guys pay tax on every car purchase with no tax credit for your trade. HORRIBLE!! At least its not 45 degrees there

Lou

BTW, Darren that is wholesale price for an X50, try and negotiate, say you'll buy it for $78k or so, or let me buy it for that price

YEa, just find out what the in service date was for me. I'd love it, especially if you can negotiate a cheaper price

What I make of their offer is possibly an ominous sign: them wholesaling it in August will be WORSE than now, if you can believe that. Hard to think values could fall more to make them want to unload now, but it's a possible solution as to why they made the offer. Either that or they are trying to unload some debt and in that case many people should be getting calls. I don't know the percentage of leasees who buy at the term end but it can't be high. Certainly a good deal for someone.

I have an 02 TT leased through Chase and pay $1,150.00 a month and have like 11 months left before the end of the lease. I wanted to put the car on Swap A Lease and get out early but was told that Chase was no longer allowing lease assumptions. I'm definately giving them a call today to try and negotiate the price. As of yesterday the payoff on the automated system was $89,600. plus tax according to the state you lived in. My TT now reads 19K on the odometer.

My deposit is paid for a 997TT, although from a depreciation perspective this is a better deal. Although so far my Cayenne TT minivan is keeping me and the kids happy.

well Ross if you want the car you can take it for the price they want and you can have the ruf wing and gt2 nose since you gave me a smokin deal to take it from ya last year
- I am not sure I even want it anymore - I am thinking about a cab - maybe SL55 or TT cab

A TT cub will tide you over nicely until you decide between the 430 and the 997tt.

I got a good deal at Jack Daniels Porsche through a good friend. My total out of pocket was like $6,800. I was looking at other cars that are half the price and leases are close to or more than what I pay now. Yes, the car was new when purchased.

Darren if you dont mind me asking, what were you planning to do with the front end and wing at the point you are going to turn in the car? Seems like a lot of work to remove the front end at the end of the lease. Nevertheless, it looks awesome.

Nader i'll just sell the wing I guess - hopefully to a 6speeder and the nose I may just leave on - needs repainting anyway- i'd swap it with someone local at that point for no money (to a 6speeder only) if they really want it but they would have to pay for the labor
