Love that carbon fiber!

Getting ready for the track season. My old helmet was SA 2000, and was also getting a tad smelly after 10 years. Decide on the Simpson Devil Ray - just 2.9 pounds.

Photo below shows the helmet with Chatterbox and HANS anchors installed.

Very nice helmet.
I'm sure it's light weight is surprising when first handling and wearing it.

Carbon HANS also very nice. That's my next purchase/aspiration.

Hey, Tvr-4,

If you want me to instruct for you at Mid-Ohio, drop the organizers a note. They might not always be able to do it, but it's better to come from the student. I like to be able to wear the HANS in the passenger seat, too. Is this your first time at Mid-Ohio?

Jon,

Yes, first time, and I'll shoot them a note.

Totally hear you on the HANS - that was my first purchse after one time at the track (along w/roll bar/GT3 seats/6pts) as I'm a huge beleiver in safety.

Can't wait to see that helmet in person, looks bad***.

Cheers, TK

One session in my car, and you went out and spent $3k on safety equipment. I guess that's one of those things that make you say "Hmmm..."

YES, all your fault (and Chad's for encouraging me to come to the track),

Also bought some sickness bags from the G forces your car pulls in turns and braking, turning my stomach upside down.

You're not the first. My buddy says I should paint barf bags on the side of my car for each passenger who asked to be taken in.

Take a look at my video from last year at Mid-Ohio:

Mid-Ohio is a lot more interesting than Putnam Park, with some blind corners and apexes at the top of hills.

Jon
