Intercoolers: apples to apples to oranges to cantelopes

So according to the diagrams above,AWE ICs achieved both goals...lower IATs and minimized boost pressure loss than OEM 997,1TT ICs...That is exceptional for the manufacturer...well done...so far I ve seen ICs with better thermal efficiency than OEM 997,1TT ICs but in terms of pressure drop results were worse...Good work...

I must note that we designed our end tanks to specifically work on both the 996TT and 997TT. Only differences are the hoses we send. We have specific sets for each of the cars.

We did some runs with our 3.5" ICs... back to back.. same car.. same boost... 24 hours apart... 18g car .... it was in the winter... We have it posted on our site since day one... Our 4.5s are on cars ranging from 700 rwhp to 1100 rwhp... including our own 997 that made 871 rwhp... these are facts with full disclosure. Not sure what else needs be said... My own car made 984 rwhp with our 4.5's... and thats only at 1.6 bar. And just for the hell of it I made some custom 6" ICs to compare.
BTW, the stock IC data log is on a X 50 ICs...
Ive posted this a few times before....
Our ICs are affordable and are made in USA ( Bell cores) and pressure tested to 35 PSI before shipping.

Here is our dyno on our 997 TT... with our 4.5s which I only recommend on big turbo set ups...

Mike i'd like to ask does your boost hose kit work on the stock 997 intercoolers?
#21
Mike looks like you guys include silicone hose kit with your IC package...I am assuming your kit is a bit larger than stock correct? Also can you throw in the F hose to make a complete kit?
IC is something I am considering in the future along with hoses at some point...for now just seeing what are my options...

Yes, we do include silicones hoses. They are similar in diameter, but get larger when the hose meets the end tank.
For 996TT owners, we actually have an F-hose from Samco. This can be purchased separately from their normal complete hose kit.

I'm interested in getting the intercooler from AWE for my 996 but i didn't find out till I saw the chart that the example is for the 997 and NOT the 996! Will it make a big difference on my 996? It's not the x50 its just the turbo. I will eventually get the GT2 turbo's but before I do that I want to boost it at lower speed! People tell me the intercooler will do it? Any comments?
Richard
P.S. How the hell do I post a picture of my car on this thing?

Email me for more info. Mike@awe-tuning.com
The answer is yes. A cooler intake charge will help regardless of what urbo variant you have.
Look forward to speaking with you.
