I was told the standard PSS10 for the 996 turbo would not fit. Can someone explain to me the difference between the two?

I think the fronts are the issues - turbo is AWD and has different suspension up front.

So it has to do with the lower attachment points of the strut?

I think so, but I am not sure of exactly what is different, etc.

PPS10's are not really a good choice for a GT2 since the fronts won't adjust down to GT2 ride height without shorter springs which causes the shocks to ride on their bump stops. You should focus on coil over system that does not adjust spring height but moves the shock assemble up or down with the remaining in static perchers thereby maintaining full shock travel and allowing both extension and recoil adjustments with no change in spring rate. The stock GT2 suspension is pretty good out out of the box. Unless you plan to spend a lot of money (like 10K) you may not end up with better handling but worse handling.
