Meister Gauge Faces - First Impressions

I received my Meister gauge faces today and made some notes while I installed. Overall the instructions are quite good with the few exceptions noted in the writeup below. This was the only place I could find faces with KPH except the other company that sells the faces for $600+.

These faces cost $210 including the "Turbo" script I had added on. It took 30 days from the order date to receive the goods (note they had to go to Canada).

The only thing I am not totally thrilled with is the look with the lights on, but that could be me - what do you think?

you have a before with lights on?

I don't think it looks that bad, maybe change the bulb colors.

No, I didn't think to do that, and I'm not putting the old ones back to try it. Can someone with stock gauges post a pic for us?

Gutsy move, tougher than it looks. I messed up some needles on a 944 gauge years ago. Like you said be careful installing them. I like the look of the white nice job.

I think it looks good. Based on those pics, can't really tell any difference.

OK, they are starting to row on me. I went out tonight and by the time I came back I was starting to dig the new look. One thing to note, the high beam indicator as well as the signals are not as clear as the OEM ones but it's not that significant in view of the cost.

I included some pics of the OEM tach below. One picture shows the face illuminated form the front, one from the back. You can see the high beam indicator perfectly clearly, the new faces are a little more blurry (even though my pictures are pretty blurry too). Overall I think I am happier with the switch.

Yes needles are tough..even fixing cars for 20 plus years I would hold my breath when doing it..more afraid of that then air bags.

If your town has a speedo shop I would take it to them all apart,
and let them do it.be hour or so labor but they won't mess it up

Oh nice write up as well ...

Slider, great pics and write up. Rep point for you.
I am probably going to get the faces from Pelican and have someone else add the "Turbo" script and do the intstall.

Looks good. Have you considered changing to a higher lumen bulb to get more light through? Or even an led? Not sure is anyone has tried it or if it's feasible in case there needs to be resistors involved but just a thought.

I did mine on the other day...and yes, those needles are scary. I broke one from a 944 panel, so I was pretty cautious when removing these. BUT the construction is now different and less prone to braking.

Nice find. That seems like a logical next step to take things up a notch. Although I bet it will be a pretty big pita to accomplish lol.

Thanks for the write up slider. That process does look like a PITA. Gauges look great with the lights off. Not sure if I dig the look with the lights on, but if you are happy that is all that matters.
