Brakes after washing the car
#2
This is pretty normal as your brake pads need to break through the rust and settiment on the rotor surface before hitting the actual metal of the rotor itself. It should not take long for this to happen though, a couple seconds on the brake at a low speed max I would say. Hope this helps.

I have been driving all of my cars for about 100 ft with the brakes on after every wash for some time.
My S2000 brakes rusted very quickly and would actually lock up while sitting in the garage if I just washed and then put away.
My new cars manual states that the car should be driven immediately following a wash to help prevent rust build up.

My GT3 does the same thing. I think it's more from getting a coating of wheel cleaner on it than from rust. It burns off after the second or third time braking, but you need to be careful that first time braking.

This is normal, as setiment builds up on the rotors after a washing.
one way to help prevent this is to make sure the brakes are cool before washing.

Happens on every car I think - I take the car for a spin around the block, which helps get rid of most of the water in crevices too - then I bring it back into the garage and dry it again. Usually gets any rust buildup off the rotors.
