hrs1 is infamous around these parts
lowered cars...youll need special flatbed
or youll be "denied" a tow! You need to request a "hitch" or "split" style flatbed.. Figured I would share!

This problem can be easily solved with a couple of 2x4's placed between the front wheels and the end of the flat bed. If you can get the front wheels on a 2x4 before the chin spoiler reaches the flatbed, it won't rub.

Yup, but it's still probably best if you mention you have a lowered 911tt (in my case) when requesting the tow so the company knows what to send out with the truck. I know I'll try to remember to tell them if I ever need a tow.

Ummm...not so. even with 2x4s AND these medal rods he had..still rubbed and the other issue was muffler was touching the ground! Wish that was the fix!

Regular flat bed works fine with 2x4's and for extra precautions I just take off my front lip before they put it up..... these "special flatbeds" might take hours at certain times opposed to a regular truck.

yeah my E55 was molested by a flatbed before. carbon lip was ruined, tow company paid for it. if you get denied thats one thing, if the driver tries to load your car and fails - they are responsible.

I think it's 2 screws on the sides, and the rest is just clips from what I read. I always have a mini tool set in my car at all times for just in case situations like these.

Phillips screwdriver is all you need to take the lip off. There are two screws attaching it to the bumper one inside each wheel well. Slides right out after the screws are removed. I've replaced my front lip a few months ago and it really is that easy.

You are right. I had my lowered 930 flat-bedded and even with the 2x4's the hook-rods mushed into my rubber chin spoiler. I was so peeved. I thought I was going to come unglued. I had sweat beading up on my brow,, we did make it up though, although it wasn't a load of fun.

My god we are a finicky bunch of ladies, aren't we?

The lip is the LEAST on the worries, I would worry more about getting the back end up without hurting the exhaust or rear valance.

Exactly, what they said......simple, no brainer to do before a tow, I even take my lip off for alignments if my car has to go up on a rack

The truck Champion sent to me (Chase Towing) had metal ramps that attached to the bed. they adjusted the angle throughout the load so neither the front spoiler nor the exhaust were ever close enough to rub.
