2001 Turbo Flashing Yellow Light high RPM's?

Hello, I am new to the forum, sorry if this has been posted before, but I couldnt find an answer when I did a search. I am looking to buy a 2001 turbo. I took one for a test drive and when I got the car into the upper rpm's I noticed a yellow/orangish light flash in the dashboard. Is this something I should be concerned with or is this normal, like a shift light?

Thanks in Advance.

Did you see what the outline of the light was, if applicable, and where the location of the light was?

Thanks for the response. I wasnt able to get a good look to see what the outline of the light was, and I believe it was located around the bottom middle of the dashboard - maybe a little closer to the drivers side door than dead center.

I am not familiar with the Porsche electronics, as I dont own one yet, come from many BMW's, but that could be a traction control light blinking, aka will cut power and abs intrusion to get the car "corrected" then it will go out.

Thanks! bad107, I dont think it was a shift light. Didnt look like anything aftermarket. And the care is supposed to be stock.

umvmy996 - I am planning on getting a PPI done. Other than the light, which might be nothing, the car looks to be in almost perfect condition, 19k miles. little to no scratches.. new tires, brakes, clean air filter.. etc. Also, I like both your avatar and quote

Tj Hunter, that also sounds like a possibility. I hope someone hear has a definitive answer ! Thanks for all the responses

The blinking light more than likely is the PSM (traction control) light blinking. It also could be the Check Engine Light though because when the car misfires it will blink but NORMALLY the light will stay on after it does.

Misfire will be the check engine light. Traction has it's own light I think.

good shot of the indicators here if you can identify which one was flashing.
