Need opinion in buying 01 tt vs 03 x50
I have been wanting to buy a 01 tt to 05tts. I am in Vancouver, Canada where there are few to choose from, so heading south along the pacfic coast if anyone has any leads. I have found a really prestine 01 with 40k miles, sport seats, and no mods other than pss10 which I would put on anyway, and 19" Vellano wheels with ps2s, factory areo vs a pristine 03 x50 with 22k miles, with no mods except wheels. I would do suspension, flash, and exhaust with whatever car I get, but would prefer a low miler to start off with. There is a 7k difference. Is this too little? I am thinking the 03 x50 is the better buy. What do you guys think the value of a non mod 03 x50 is today? The 03 x50 has dark grey interior. This seems different than the supple leather seats. What this a more expensive option? I like the sport seats for looks, but for me they feel a little on the tight side in the lats area, even though I am only 6' 180lbs. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get

What do u guys think the number should be for the low miler miler 03 x50? Also I have heard people talk about the 20% stiffness difference. Anything with this? noticeable if tracking?

Thanks for the help. That was the number that I was thinking and I might be able to buy this 03 x50 under 50k. It's just the 01 is a local car that I now the history, and has the pss10s, sport seats, vellano wheels with 90% ps2s, and areo pkg.

No brainer for me. 03 x50. You get to choose your own flash, exhaust, suspension.... Starting from the X50 you will be 50-75hp ahead in the end.
If the interior is a dark, almost charcoal, it may be the "natural grey leather". This was a $1500 option. If you look at the underhood sticker, it will give you all paint, interior and option codes. Shoot me an email and I can send you the 2003 order guide.

Thx ard. This interior seems to be the one u are talking of. Its not as wrinkled looking like the supple. What would a rough budget be the flash, and exhaust? Is there is there anything else that makes sense to do at the same time. The car is going to be an almost daily with a few track days a year. I know what the pss10s are worth, but not sur on flash and exhaust. I am coming from a 993 na.

drive it for a bit and then see if you want the extra power

I have read here on the forums that there was an upgrade in body structure stiffness after 01 by apparently 20%, Would like to know for sure as on of the cars I am getting close to buying is a 01.

oh i have heard of this but are you really going to be doing that hardcore of track work to care about chassis without any rollcage/trackbar? i wouldn't worry about that issue in an 2001-2003 comparison
