I like it. My wife would love it being a University of Illinois alumn.

Its definately safe for an automated car wash...
there are only two issues
1... how can you get a 996tt on an automated car wash, with it being so low and having 315s in the rear (unless youre at stock ride height, and stock 295s, which make you un-cool)
2.... even if you somehow got the car into one of those automated car washes, could you honestly endure the 3-5 minutes of mental agony of people pointing and laughing at your orange 996 ?

i couldnt do it...

Just curious....

Brutal ..

I would have to see it in person, initial thoughts are positive. I would prefer to have the side mirrors in black, and maybe the hood or roof in black also.

For those that PM'd about price, please get a quote from Dan at Vivid. I hate to be giving wrong info out.
Like I said, way cheaper than a paint job, and totally reversable.

So if I get laughed at too much at the car wash, I'll change it back to silver

Holy **** Howie. I love the color. Always been an Orange fan. When will the car be back home? Send me a PIN on pricing.

Let me help Howie If your not going to have us do the wrap, price is impossible and you should check with a local vinyl graphics shop near you. Depending on color and car, the wrap can be anywhere from $2500 - $3500.

Door jams are not done, so the silver will be visable. Sorry no pics.

It's gonna be pimpin Howie. Can't wait to see it for real. Is the headlight wash cover missing on the passenger side? (Pic in post 22 above)

Ever since i saw a Mercedes concept car done in matte orange at SEMA I have though a flat orange porscche would be kick ***. Looks like I was correct. Looks awesome.

Question.

Since as far as I know the vinyl mfg don't make a flat orange vinyl it has to be printed on a white ? How consistent is the ink coverage look in person out in the sun ? Is there shading or coverage issues ? Or is the coloring and coverage consistent like you would expect to see with a quality paint job ?

I would also like to see some door jamb pics as well as hood up detail pics of how you deal with that area.

anyhow, pics look great. Nice work

I love the orange! I am an Oregon State alumni so hard not to after bleeding black and orange all those years of college. I would love to drive that car to an OSU football game.

I know you said the door jams weren't done, but for those of us considering doing something like this, could you take some pics of that area and the open hood. For me the unfinished look would likely be the deal breaker but would like to see what it actually looks like

Might actually be in Portland later this summer. I 'll come pick you up to a game. I'm going to pick up the car in the morning, so I'll post some more pictures. Glad you like the orange.

Thanks. The color does look consistent through out. I'll look closer at it tomorrow. Pics coming soon.

Good eye Pro. Yes, indeed the cover is missing on that picture. Vivid is replacing it.
