Question battery dead and have a question

how do i get the front hood open? obviously none of my buttons work. last time this happened i did the thing in the manual where i put the positive on the fuse and the negative on the door latch and that gave me enough juice to pop the hood but the battery i bought is under warranty and id rather just open the thing up and swap batteries. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

You need to do that very same thing. As I understand it that is pretty much the best way to open it.

BTW, I had that problem once and bought the Porsche battery maintainer ... never had a problem since. Just plug one end into the wall and the other into your cig lighter ... problem solved.

Yep...you're going to have to juice the panel. I actually had a spare battery in my garage when this happened to me, pretty darn quick to click open the hood.

As for why the battery went dead...if you don't pull the key out when you park it, certain stuff stays on and drains the battery. My battery is the original, this winter there were times when I wouldn't drive it for a month and it would start right up. I always pull the key, then put it back in the ignition, except once, (hard to lose the key that way).

Gotta do the fuse panel to the door jamp thing.

Same happened to me and the dealer drove iup with a new batttery -- very nice -- also threw me a battery maintainer free of charge (pun intended) and I have never had the problem again.
