Drop in Boost - Suggestions?
I have a 2004 996TT with K16s, all stock with 33k miles. Over about a year of driving in LA, was consistently getting a .8 BAR reading at WOT. A few months ago, had the dealer complete the 30K mile service which requires some disassembly of the intake system to get to the plugs. Since then, my boost has dropped to a consistent .6 BAR with spikes to .7. The dealer is being helpful in trying to resolve the issue and just disassembled, inspected and reassembled the "effected" components of the car from the service and no change in the BAR reading. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Is there a factory spec for BAR on this car? Thanks for the input.

If your earlier experience was in the fall and winter months, and now you are in the warmer spring/summer weather now (it IS socal) it may be normal. You will get lower peak boost with hotter air.

Thanks for the input.... To answer a couple questions - my experience of getting .8 bar was based on driving for over a year in all seasons in LA - has been consistent. The .6 and occasional spike to .7 has been over the last 3 months with varied temp and humidity ranges. I am not the original owner of the car and my understanding (and all indications) are that the car was completely stock including no flash. I will check to see if the dealer did an update to the ECU.
I was hoping to find a spec that suggests it should be in the .8 range which would give cause to have the dealer further look into the issue - the car is under extended warranty for another 6 months.
Thanks
