Angry Door glass drop-down problem

Seacrhed and came up with nothing. My driver door glass drops down as designed when the door is opened but if I pull the handle too far out during opening the glass goes back up with the door open. Up/down function works as designed when the door is opened from the inside. I replaced the microswtich for the outside handle and the problem still exists. Anyone else have this problem? Solution?

If I pull the outside handle just enough to release the latch it's ok.

I believe there is a recalibration feature in the window mechanism. Others please correct me if I'm wrong but I think I remember it involves lowering the window all the way, then holding the button "on" as the window goes all the way up and continue to hold it "on" for a few seconds even after it has closed.

If that doesn't work try closing the window, release the button, then push the "close" side of the button once to reset the ending position.

If neither of these methods work you may have a different problem.

Has your battery been disconnected recently?

I think you are thinking of the auto up/down relearn procedure. Battery has been disconnected recently. Had the problem since delivery.

you're going to need the door latch itself. there is a built in microswitch in there that has gone bad.

The door latch depends on options on the car. Give your vin to the dealer to make sure they get the correct one. Typically it is not the microswitch that fails, but rather the cam gear that triggers it is plastic (or plastic coated) which falls apart and the switch will not make contact.

Various window issues over the years:

If the small switch within the latch is broken you can replace the internal part of the switch with an alternate switch from Digi-Key. It is exactly the same internal parts. look here for more info: Post #18

There's a guy in the DC area selling a passenger side regulator for $50 new. No affiliation. Here.
