M030 euro suspension or X73

What are the exact differences. Are there big improvements in handling going with the X73 instead of the M030? What other differences? How is the ride/handling with each. Does the M030 lower the car enough so that the large gaps between the fender and wheels are gone?

can u tell the 3rd pic from top (seal gray TT cab) is lower than the silver cab below or just me?

having say that, the seal grey cab could be the one with X73.

Boy, that is really confusing. They all look pretty close with different pics of M030 suspension looking different.

Thanks, now its coming together. The height is identical in front between the two however, on the X73 the height is lower in the rear. Which looks better and handles better? Does the back look too high with the M030?? I do not want the gap between the tire and wheel well.

Lou,
the X73 will lower the Euro M030 20mm FRONT & REAR according Porsche. they are not identical to each other.

i know it sounds confusing, but think about this:

Euro M030 F-20mm R-10mm
X73 F-40mm R-30mm

from our US M030. is't more clear to u?
I got it now, thanks alot? Have you seen the euro M030 in person? Are their gaps between the wheel well and top of tire. I would hate to get the euro suspension and then the car still looks high.

Lou -- It seems to me your primary goal in lowering the car is aesthetics. That being the case, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you will NOT be happy with the Euro M030 suspension. There will still be significant gaps between the wheel well and the tire with the ROW M030 setup. While Porsche specifies that the ROW M030 will lower the car 20mm and 10mm front and rear, respectively, they also specify a 10mm plus or minus tolerance. I've seen many Turbos after install of the ROW suspension which do not appear to be much lower than stock at all, especially in the rear. If you want to have ultimate control (and adjustability/flexibilty) over the final height of your car, get coil overs. If you want to stick with Porsche parts and definitely want the car to look like it has been lowered, I'd recommend you go with the X73 setup. Just my 2 cents.

BTW, your Turbo will ride better (and have less harshness) with quality coil overs as compared to either the stock or Euro M030 suspensions. Of course handling will improve significantly over stock. Can't speak to the X73 suspension ride quality, as I haven't experienced that yet.

Jack, thanks alot for clearing that up. I am kind of in a bind because the streets in Chicago are so poor. The second issue with coilovers is that there aren't any places I would trust to make the correct adjustments needed for the coilover system. I know they would not get the offset right and ultimately I would have problems, not to mention, I probably will never track the car. I am interested in getting 19's, having the car look cleaner and maybe having it handle a tad better. Those are my priorities. We just do not have any choice in Chicago and most Porsche service centers know less about mods than I do. Add to that the fact that once they know you did a mod, they want to void your warranty. Now I know all about the Magnusson-Moss act, but still could lead to a ton of problems if they do the installation. An installation I do not think they are capable of doing anyway!! So, I guess the question still is, what should I do?? I think the X73 might be the answer, but, then I worry, is it to low, if I have 19's will the tires rub? Will I actually improve handling? Please, I am interested in anyone and everyone's opinion and advise. Thanks again Jack, I was really close to pulling the trigger on the M030 suspension. In light of the new info, I am glad I didn't.

-Lou
