What makes the best shine
What waxes do you use for the best results? Do you clay? I have never clayed a car so dont know how hard it is or if its worth bothering. Last time i waxed my car i used autoglym hd wax. Its good but ive seen better and want that deep wet look. Any suggestions! Thanks

You ever try the Zaino line? I think their polish is very good for the deep wet look. Clay bar the car is easy, but it just takes more time to the whole wash and wax process. I tend to clay bar cars at least twice a year to keep the paint smooth. I bet some members clay bar it even more often.

Clay bar can be used more than once. The directions tell you how to use it anwhrn to dispose. It's some good stuff. For finish supplies and expertise, check out Adam's Polishes.com. our local P club had a workshop at their headquarters in Boulder last week. Great peole, products and results. Their website has great guidance and videos. Highly recommend them and their stuff (no affiliation).

I like to wash my car very well and dry it then I use Meguiars Quick Detailer and spray in small sections followed by clay bar until the all the paint is smooth then re-wash. Always gets best shine for me!

Wax is almost secondary.
Prior to waxing, unless you have a mirror-perfect surface you will not get that 'wow' result.
Clay is fine. In fact it is, IMO, an essential first step. But then comes swirl and scratch removal, then polish....and finally wax. (or zaino)
There is no magic here, there is no wax that will shortcut these steps.

I agree. A porter cable is the best investment I ever made. I use p21 and it seems to be a great product. In all honesty, with the proper method and prep, most waxes are pretty similar in appearance.

If you don't plan to clay the car before you polish it, you are wasting your time. It only takes 10 minutes and is totally worth it. Every time I don't clay a car prior to polishing it, I'm sorry I did not. You'll be surprised what clay pulls out of even "clean" paint. Want a great kit? Check this one out. Everything you need...
