Funny, my car was owned by a NASA engineer too.

I scrubbed it off because it was nasty and i hate working on a dirty engine.

Good news, my son was born Friday morning!!!! Mom and him are doing fine.

So i have decided to go with a 2.5" CAT back exhaust. I wanted a quiet exhaust with as little drone as possible and i already had the 2.5" mandrel bends from anouther project. I ordered the Magnaflow 5x8 tru-X oval muffler with conical 3" to 2.5" reducer by Flowmaster. I was able to get one CAT welded to the flange with both 02 bungs welded on. I'll post pics later for you guys later.

New parts:

Here are some pics of the CATS welded up to the stock flange with the o2 bungs.

I should have the cone reducer and Muffler this coming week so i'm hoping to get this thing done in the next couple weeks. I plan on opening the stock exhaust tips up to 2.5" and using them to give it a stock look.

So, this morning before the wife and kids got up i was able to get the hose fittng on the drivers turbo intake. It's very hard to find and aluminum fitting you can use to weld on your pipes so what i did was go down to ACE and buy a 3/8" thinck wall aluminum tube. I took my TIG welderand welded a bead around the tube where i then used a file to shape out the ledge for the lock on the hose fitting. It worked like a champ.

Now all i really need is to finish the exhaust and new boost hoses and i'm done. I'll get with the gang at EPL and fine tune it for the extra mods i've done and should be golden. Clutch, water meth and a retune will come in about six months.....

This weekend i finished up the exhaust and i must say it turned out very nice. I used the stock tips by removing the ring inside they use for the stock muffler.

I managed to get everything back together minus the two lower boost hoses and bumper. I should be turning the key tomorrow after work for the first time after all the mods. I didn't get pics of the progress as i didn't have much time. I'll post pics and video of the completed project tomorrow.

I installed the bottom boost hoses and turned the key for the first time....and she fired up and ran like a top. The best part of it all is the exhaust is nice and quiet like i wanted. we'll have to see if it has any drone once i take it for a spin.

Before i drop it down i have to adjust the wastegates and put the bumper on. After that, we'll see what EPL can make this thing do with a good tune.
