ImagineAuto is infamous around these parts
All,

A few thoughts on oil changes in TT's:

-Be careful about adding the dipstick as the filler neck has changed since the early cars. Porsche advises against adding it as you could damage a sensor.

-We always drain the turbo's; why not remove as much old oil as you possibly can? Same with changing the filter; why not?

-When adding oil back in, we typically add about 6 qts and start taking readings from there. Adding 8.5 qts initially may lead to overfilling and having an oily MAF.

-Yes, the car should be level to ensure proper draining.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the information.

Don't you have to warm up the engine/new oil before taking readings?

Dock,

Yes, the system will not provide a reading before operating temp is reached. Typically, after starting with 6 qts, we add 1-2 more based on the "gauge".

Thanks,
