Kw v3 installed but.....

got my kw v3 installed + CG strut brace. it doesnt feel bumpy on rough road and cornering is stiff, the car body-roll feel much solid. the only problem i have is when i do turns in the carpark (super slow speed) or turn steering about couple inches left right with car still i can hear the "CLUNK". Is it normal? the sound only come in slow speed "no noise when i go thru bumps".

pls help

i had the same issue with my H&R coilovers and i discovered that the nuts that held the end links were not tight, after tightening, no more noise.

Make sure your lower control arm is not making contact with your sway bar.

Check your sway bars are not hitting the drive shaft or control arms which may occur because of the lowering in height. Adjustable drop links may help by moving the arb out of the way. Same problem on mine as well.

Sounds odd to me. I had a clunk when turning but it was when my pillow ball bushings were shot (30k miles on them).

It's either a loose tie rod end or some loose sway bar links, and possibly even a loose upper strut mount....all need to be checked, the piston in the shock will not move at all when the car is sitting still. It needs to be check immediately, not safe to drive like that!

Does the KW have an adjustable strut bar mount? If so, it might be loose and rotating when you turn. This will eventually lead to end link failure.

If you have any pictures of the KWs installed without the tire in the way it would be helpful.

Oh yeah, you might want to call KW, they probably have a lot more expertise than us goobers.

Finally got it fixed ....may i know what height you guys using? my front is around 2 fingers from fender to tire...rear less then half a finger.

I am getting some knocking sound when going through some rough road.

Check sway bar end links. Get the car corner balanced. You want to do your best to use ride height to have the weight of the car sit evenly on all the tires. You probably won't get 50/50 but with that tire gap info, you have too much weight on the rear of the car. While this will help rear wheel traction, it really compromises the ability of the car to get weight over the front tires on braking and your stopping distances will go way up along with brake wear and heat.
