Yes it would, but the air speed will be faster with the newer setup. Not only is air ramed in but it then speed up once it hits the venturi.

Thumbs up

I believe you are correct. I am looking at using the newer set up (EVO box) with the two inlets I have on the lid. I'm wondering what would occur with two inlets instead of one. It looks like it might work better. It will be easy to close off one side (left) on my lid and test it. Then test with both inlets open.

What the heck am I going to do with all those extra ponies? It appears you guy's developed a great product.

Can it be made in carbon fiber?

Stephen:

Have you tested it in the rain to make sure there is no water entrainment?

No issue in the rain, yes it has been tested.

Chad,
Good question. Only thing I would be concerned about is the distance of the MAF and the ram air that could hit it. There is a fine line between pulling and pushing air across the MAF.

Water can escape out of the left side in front of the cone so you're all good there...

If you wanted to you could do what the factory does and drill a few drain holes on the bottom...

No need for drain holes. Motors are pumps. Pumps create condensation (water) so they are used to some water. Unless it is standing in there there would be no issues anyway. For every gallon of gas you burn you create a gallon of water. You never notice this because the cats heat up. Normally the only time you notice is on start up before the cats heat up. Even notice the water coming out...There ya go.

The combustion engine is not efficient, when things are not efficient they create heat, heat creates condensation...wasted energy.

Long and short of it is it is spring here, I have tested it. No issues what so ever.

Outstanding! I can't wait to see the stage 4 results. If they are good I'm in on the new intake setup.

I'm a little confused:

You guys made 656.9RWHP from a Evo GT800 Kit with out the box, Yet Evo's site claims:
GT 750 kit makes: 669.7whp (without their new box)
and!!
GT 800 kit makes: 730.7whp (without the new box)

Putting the new air box on the GT800 kit takes it to 732.2RWHP,
so thats a 1.5 whp!! increase

I would understand if you were using different dynos, but there are a few gray areas here.....

just bringing someting up...

That is a good point. Both of those dyno numbers that are being quoted are from my car. Todd did tell me that the 732rw number was an early number and he felt there was still some more to get out of it.

Some clarification for the above. The 656.9 HP run is from a GT750 dyno on MANA's car after we rebuilt the engine a few weeks ago. I am sure that after a few more runs and a few more miles, it would be back up to the 669 wheel HP that it had when it left here last summer. The original GT800 dyno run of 730.7 HP that is on our website was conducted with our airbox on a different motor last year. MANA's car with our airbox dyno tested at 732 wheel HP which is a few more than the dyno from last year with 2 different motors. Hope this helps.
