Real world Intake results with dynos

As usual ImagineAuto and EVO like to test and test and retest before any product is ever released. The new EVO intake for the TT is no exception.

We spent the day putting out fires and when the smoke cleared in the shop we made a b-line for our dyno. The first test was done on a 02 TT that is owned by one of our employees. We wanted to establish numbers on a truly stock car. I have to say Scott's car is about as stock as it comes..Well maybe except for the cup holder. Any way we did about 10 base lines to make sure we had a real number. After that we undid the air box and reran the car. The results were the following. All test were done on a 500SE AWD Mustang. This is what we have in house. The base numbers are as follows:
353.7 AWHP
338.6 AWTQ

Intake installed the results were as follows:
368.6AWHP
353.7AWTQ

Can you say 15HP increase to the wheels, mind you that is all four and 15TQ to all four wheels. We ran the same test 10 times and netted a single HP in-between runs. It was very consistent...Sorry about the gas level Scott

Now, on the same day almost at the same time EVO was dynoing a test mule. All their test were done on a 248C DynoJet. Rear shaft uncoupled and on RWHP figures. Test mule is the GT800 package. Same set of circumstances..base line runs 10 times, airbox runs 10 times..the base line figures are as follows:

Base line
656.9RWHP

Tested with intake:

Intake
732.2RWHP!!! That is a 75.3 increase. No joke folks. Think the intake from the factory is not restrictive. Think again.

More test....This time on a stage II

Baseline

437RWHP
455RWTQ

Test with Intake
447.0RWHP
474.3RWTQ

Gains were 10HP and 19TQ! Remember this is to the wheels.

If anyone has any questions or want the dyno sheets faxed or emailed just let us know.

More to follow!

Hard data is good!

Now... What is the change that the freer-flowing intake
would allow a little more tweaking to the programming
for yet a little bit more gain?

It is actually about right for the way the programs were setup. Drop me an email or call about the pricing.

Those are some mighty impressive numbers. Not only are there significant HP and TQ gains, but the power comes on faster (particularly in the stock car). Mine is already in transit -- thanks Stephen!!!

and to think that a high flow less surface area cone filter could outperform the stock panel filter contrary to what many have said

Nice work EVO !

I've already had mine on order on faith ... well, Todd's word anyway.

Tim "Todd, don't give me any BS (I know he won't but I have to say this anyway). I imagine this thing might only help out at high revs where the engine might starve?"
Todd "No, surprisingly it pulls better way down low."
Tim "No way!"
Todd "Yes!"

Tim "OK, Here's my money you %@_(*(&_@%.

I think you've got my card on file

When will it ship? Thanks."

This might have already been answered but do you have to do any special ECU tuning for this gain or is it just plug and play?

15HP increase on a stock car? Dan, now I'm impressed!
