Solid Motor Mounts = epic
I just installed my solid motor mounts that arrived today. WOW Top 3 mods I have ever done to my Porsche. It sounds raw. If you like the sound of the old air cooled engines, if you like the way they feel, you will love this mod. It is an amazing, modification. It brought back memories from driving my good friends 79 SC decked out beauty that went back to the motherland and is no longer here.
Apart from amazing sound, you hear all the mechanical noises etc. it totally fixed the transmission sloppiness I had compare to my friends RS4 which felt better. Shifting 1-2 is beautiful now. Going through the gears at WOT, you know where every gear is going to be WOW, i can't get enough of this mod ! 10/10 !

It cost about $260 shipped. I installed rennline motor mounts. This mod will give you extra cabin noise, but like i said....your looking at a raw feel...If i had front tires I would not be here typing atm....I would be out enjoying a nice drive just to feel and hear that mechanical noise.

Rennline only sells solids. I went with solids as others have installed the poly ones and feel or hear very little difference.

I've heard good reviews of the Wevo mounts too. I think Eugene might have had a set installed recently. How much more cabin noise when cruising?

Glad you like it f1. Now I feel stupid because I paid more for less.
With the ss (semi-solid), I don't feel much diff in terms of performance; but I have the raw engine sound (but may not be as loud as yours).
So, you said top 3... what are the top 2?

Enrique, you're a bit crazier than the rest of us
I found the WEVO semi solid mounts to have virtually no polyurethane in them and can't imagine totally solid. To be honest, a 2 hour freeway drive made me dislike them until I switched to 18" wheels (from 19s). The taller sidewalls really help soak up a LOT! Especially if you're willing to reduce the recommended cold pressures by a few PSI.
IMO The WEVO mounts (and 997 tranny mount) coupled with 18s are a very good compromise for a mostly street car with a few track days.
